September 9, 1998. Session Minutes.
Pastor Kathy opened the meeting with prayer and with the sharing of joys and concerns.
Special Visitors. Jerry Elmore, Superintendent of Esparto Schools and Tammy Fullerton of RISE, Incorporated. Introductions were made and Jerry and Tammy proceeded to explain the concept of a “Human Services Network Center”. They were requesting Countryside Church be a partner in this community effort by providing a space from which to operate. There were no funds at this point in the development. After some discussion, a motion was made to allow the Human Services Network Center use the church basement, contingent upon signing a contract detailing the arrangement, some help with custodial work, and being named as additional insured on their liability policy. Motion was second and approved.
Moderator’s Report. Kathy officiated at a graveside service for Robert Martinez, brother of Helen Stephens, on September 6th.
New Business: Cal Works. Kathy presented some information from the Cal Works program. After some discussion, it was decided that Countryside Church was not in a position to be a work site for this “community service” program. It would require more supervision than the church could provide.

October 13, 1998. Session Minutes.
Moderator’s Report. Pastor Kathy officiated at two weddings in early October.
Pastor Kathy’s installation service was set for November 8th at 4:00pm. Pastor Kathy was instrumental in organizing a joint valley churches Thanksgiving Service to be held the evening of November 22nd with a potluck dinner following in the social hall.
Old Business: A draft lease agreement between Countryside Community Church, the Esparto Unified School District, and Rural Innovations in Social Economics (RISE) for a work space was read and discussed. Pastor Kathy will meet with Kathy Wicks to discuss Session’s suggestions.
Heritage Sunday. Final plans for the Heritage Sunday celebration, October 18th, were discussed. Special invitations were sent to previous members. It was decided to honor Dolores Stephens for her music ministry both during the worship service and the potluck luncheon. Kristin Kuehn was contacted to provide special flowers for the celebration.
New Business. Kay Kolb announced she might be retiring from Session. She moved to Woodland and is working full time, which has made it hard to devote the amount of time needed to CCC .

October 18, 1998. Special Session Minutes.
Moderator: Kathy McIntosh Smith
A motion was made and seconded for Cathy Wicks to use an upstairs room for her work space instead of the basement. Motion carried.
A motion was made to talk to Lawson Property Management about the renters in the Manse..
A warning to stop the parties or they will have to move out. Motion was second and approved.
January 24, 1999. Congregational Meeting.
Moderator Rev. Kathy McIntosh Smith opened the meeting with prayer.
There were 25 members present.
Buildings & Grounds reported their main focus was getting the Manse ready to rent.
Outreach Committee reported on the very active Men’s Group led by Roy May. Bill reported the church signs on either end of Esparto are in the process of being cleaned and repaired.
Mission Committee reported on the food closet program, the need for the program and how to make folks more aware of it. Yolo Cooperative will be helping with the food closet.
There will be a missionary coming from Africa and will speak at the church.
Nominating Committee- Gwen Hein, Cindy Brock and Paul Stephens, nominated George Lokie, Carol Means and Jim Durst and Bill Rominger for 3 years. A motion was made, second and approved the nominations. Next year's nominating committee will be Sue Temple, Barbara Finney and Bill Rominger.
The minutes were read back at the meeting by Cindy Brock. Bill Rominger moved to accept the minutes as read. Motion approved.
